Why Gas Safety Matters

Natural gas and LPG (liquified petroleum gas) are highly flammable which is why they can so easily be burnt to provide heat. If gas escapes from the sealed system it is delivered through to come into your home, there’s the potential for fires and explosions. Additionally, if a gas appliance isn’t working efficiently or vents, flues, chimneys or exhausts are blocked so they’re their job, carbon monoxide can build up. This gas is odourless, tasteless and difficult to detect without the right equipment. However, it’s a dangerous gas that is not a problem with regularly serviced and correctly set up gas heating and cooking appliances.
